WVSHI/RCS offers source-based speaking programs on West Virginia institutional history, including the history of institutional mental healthcare and Weston State Hospital. Programs may be appropriate for schools, libraries, historical societies, civic groups, community organizations, public education programs, and related events.
Programs are led by Titus Swan, founder and Chair/CEO of WVSHI/RCS, a historian, author, archivist, and public speaker whose work focuses heavily on Weston State Hospital and West Virginia institutional history.
There is no fixed speaking fee. Donations or honorariums to WVSHI/RCS are welcomed when available and directly support the organization’s historical, preservation, educational, and community service work.
Programs may be offered in person or virtually depending on scheduling, location, travel needs, and the nature of the request.
To request a program, please complete the Speaking Engagement Request Form below. Once received, WVSHI/RCS will review the request and follow up to discuss availability, topic fit, format, scheduling, and event details.
